Law enforcement agencies conduct a search in Yekaterinburg “Memoriale”reports “Interfax” with reference to the chairman of the council of the human rights center Oleg Orlov.

The head of the organization, Aleksey Mosin, was detained, human rights activists said, adding that he was supposed to make a presentation at the Yeltsin Center on June 23.

OVD-Info also reports on the search and detention of Mosin, citing human rights activist Anatoly Svechnikov. According to him, Mosin was “detained for the whole day.”

The reason for the search, according to Orlov, was a signal that “supposedly there is extremist literature in the room.”

There are no official comments from law enforcement agencies regarding the search at Memorial yet.

On December 28, the Supreme Court of Russia ruled to liquidate the International Memorial. The next day, the Moscow City Court issued a similar decision regarding human rights centerMemorial”. Both organizations challenged the court’s decision, but to no avail.
