Premiere at ProSieben! On Wednesday evening (June 22) Elton presented his new show “Blame or collect XL“. The concept of the show is based on the cult game of the same name from “TV total”.

Loyal ProSieben fans were looking forward to an even longer edition of the guessing game, but it didn’t seem to convince the audience. Two crucial factors are the reason whyBlame or collect XL“Failed with the “TV total” fans.

The first disruptive factor made itself felt at the beginning of the show. In “Blamieren oder Kassieren XL” both celebrities and viewers from the studio competed to secure prize money of 10,000 euros. While Elton always referred to one group of candidates as “celebrities”, he called the viewer candidates “real people”.

A remark that made numerous viewers roll their eyes in front of their home screens. “Please think of another name for the participants from the audience. ‘Real’ people sounds kind of goofy. The celebs are then ‘fake’? Just ‘candidates’ or something like that would be good,” one of them complained on Instagram.

Twitter also complained about the expression “real people”. “Who else gets annoyed by the phrase ‘the real people’? ‘ asked a man around. But the Twitter community had other concerns.


“Embarrassing or cashing in XL”: Angry viewers – “That’s how you take the fun out of it”

Similar to the ProSieben hit show “The Masked Singer”, there would also be far too many commercial breaks in “Blamieren oder Kassieren XL”. “Advertising, advertising, advertising… That’s how you take the fun out of you,” said one viewer. Another agreed: “I think the commercials could come between rounds and not within.” And they weren’t alone in thinking so.



“The ad cuts are really bad,” noted another user. Others complained that the constant interruptions made the show feel too slow and boring. “Embarrassing or cashing in” was considered the absolute favorite category of the viewers and was therefore also integrated as a game in “Schlag den Star”.
