But there is a catch, because there is actually no law yet for this official act. Rachael Maskell, the Labor MP for York Central, wants to change that. A new law should now make it possible to withdraw a title.
After receiving the Freedom of the City of York award in 1987, Prince Andrew was stripped of his honorary citizenship in April 2022. Now the citizens are demanding further consequences.
