The Russian military is conducting exercises during which they simulate missile strikes on the territory of Estonia. Information about this confirmed Finnish newspaper Iltalehti, Chancellor of the Estonian Ministry of Defense Kusti Salm.

“They really practice missile strikes on NATO territory and let us know about it,” leads words of the Chancellor Sky News TV channel.

Salm noted that Russian helicopters have recently violated Estonian airspace several times and, in his opinion, this was not a mistake, since there were also several cases when helicopters flew very close to the border.

Russian helicopters violated the border several times. It wasn’t about ships fifty miles offshore or planes far off, but about helicopters. A helicopter does not cross the border by accident.

The Estonian Ministry of Defense considers the situation very serious and links the increased incidence of “Russian provocations” to the upcoming NATO summit due next week in Spain, writes Bloomberg.

21 June Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs handed over to the Russian Ambassador a note of protest in connection with the violation of the air border on June 18. This is the second time in two weeks that Tallinn has protested to the Russian ambassador.
