Stanley Cup winner goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov spoke about the success of New York Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin in the 2021/22 National Hockey League (NHL) championship.

“I want to congratulate Igor: this is a great achievement, I am very happy for him. When I saw his game against Philadelphia for the first time, I was amazed at how amazingly talented, calm, technically well-equipped goalkeeper who reads the game perfectly, ”Then24 quotes Bryzgalov.

In his opinion, Shesterkin has a successful career, and this is not surprising. Bryzgalov expressed hope that in the future the Rangers goalkeeper will be all right, he will have a long and excellent career.

Shesterkin won the “Vizina Trophy” – a prize for the best goaltender of the NHL season. He became the third Russian in history to receive the award. Before him, only Sergey Bobrovsky (2013 and 2017) and Andrey Vasilevsky (2019) managed to do this.

Earlier, Shesterkin told the story of how a child called him the future owner of the Vezina Trophy.
