The Novoshakhtinsky oil refinery in the Rostov region on the morning of June 22, according to unofficial data, was attacked by a drone, after which a fire started there. There is no information about the victims.
A video went viral on social media showing a drone-like aircraft swooping down on the plant. At this moment, an explosion occurs at the plant. Shot has published photos that allegedly show the wreckage of a drone – according to data telegram channel, fragments of two devices were found near the enterprise.

According to one version, the fire at the enterprise was caused by an attack by drones on the technical installations of the plant, he said. The work of the plant is suspended. Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations confirmed the fact of a fire at the Novoshakhtinsk refinery. The Novoshakhtinsky oil refinery is located a few kilometers from the Russian-Ukrainian border; the territory on the other side of the border is controlled by the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic. “Kommersant” calls the plant is the largest supplier of petroleum products in the south of Russia and the only operating refinery in the Rostov region. From 2018 to 2021 factory belonged family of Ukrainian politician Viktor Medvedchuk, who is considered a friend of Russian President Vladimir Putin and is accused by the Ukrainian authorities of treason.
