On June 21, a Russian Su-25 aircraft crashed in the Rostov region. This was reported by the press service of the Southern Military District.

“The pilot died,” the press service said.

According to the report, the plane was performing a “scheduled training flight.” There was no information about the participation of the aircraft in hostilities in Ukraine, which borders the Rostov region, by the time the news was published.

The military cited a technical malfunction as a possible cause of the crash. Base claimsthat a version with a piloting error is being considered – allegedly the plane could hit power lines.
