Janusz Kępski was born on July 26, 1936 in Warsaw.
In the years 1966-1968 he was the musical director of the ensemble Partita. In 1969 he founded the group Portraits. In the years 1972–1974 – he was the artistic director of the ensemble Filipinos.
He composed music for theater, films and television. He also wrote a few hits, the most popular of which was “Jaskółka Trapped” Stan Boris.
It was Stan Borys who informed about the death of his friend.
“Today I received a very sad news that my beloved composer of ‘Swallow in prison’, Janusz Kępski, has passed away. I am sending condolences and honor to his memory for Janusz’s family,” wrote the singer on Facebook.
Apart from him, Kępski’s works were performed by, among others: Andrzej Dąbrowski, Andrzej Frajndt, Eliza Grochowiecka, Stenia Kozłowska, Jerzy Połomski, Joanna Rawik, Irena Santor, Zdzisława Sośnickaif Stefan Zach.
The cause of the composer’s death is unknown. He was 86 years old.
