The International Football Federation (FIFA) has issued a new statement regarding foreign football players and coaches who are on contracts with clubs in Russia and Ukraine.

“If clubs belonging to the RFU or the UAF do not reach a mutual agreement with their foreign players and coaches by or June 30, 2022, and unless otherwise agreed in writing, these players and coaches will have the right to suspend contracts with their clubs until June 30, 2023,” FIFA said in a statement.

Recall that in March, some foreign players have already left Russia in connection with the new FIFA rule. Krasnodar lost all eight foreign players, some of which returned at the end of the 2021/22 season.

On May 2, UEFA excluded the Russian national team from the upcoming Nations League, and also decided not to allow Russian clubs to participate in European competition next season.

Earlier it was reported that the Russian national football team in September will play with teams from different confederations.
