MOSCOW, 14 June. /Then24/. The UN reaction to the intensified shelling of Donetsk by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) was vague, the West preferred to remain silent about this situation, said Yury Ushakov, aide to the President of the Russian Federation.
“It is surprising, and perhaps not even surprising, that the West is silent about this, there was such a rather vague comment by a UN representative. It is really vague and incomprehensible,” Ushakov told reporters on Tuesday.
On Monday, several settlements in the DPR were under heavy shelling from the Ukrainian side. Donetsk was subjected to massive shelling with the use of rocket and cannon artillery, as well as 155 mm caliber guns, which are in service with NATO countries. One of the shells hit the local maternity hospital, causing a fire to break out there.
The mayor of Donetsk, Aleksey Kulemzin, said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had been continuously shelling the city for six hours.
