City Hall of Rio Grande do Sul says that payment for the show, scheduled to take place at the Gila and Serrano Artesanal Cheese Festival, is not taken from the municipal budget
Simone and Simaria show in Bom Jesus will be investigated by the Public Ministry
The Public Ministry of Rio Grande do Sul (MP-RS) decided to investigate the hiring of a concert by the duo Simone and Simaria scheduled to take place on the 15th of July at the Festa da Gila e do Queijo Artesanal Serrano, in Good Jesus. In a note sent to Young pan this Monday, 6th, the MP-RS informed that “it will establish a procedure to determine if there was an irregularity in the hiring of the duo”. “It is important to make it clear that inspecting public bodies is one of the functions of the MP. So far, there are no indications of irregularities. It is a routine investigation.” The singers would have received a fee of R$ 380 thousand to perform at the event.
The Municipality of Bom Jesus said, in a note, that the event “reached a national level, since concerts of great projection were held” and, as an example, he mentioned that the party already had the participation of Millionaire and Jose Rico (2013), Chitãozinho and Xororó (2014), from Michel Telo (2015), munhoz and Marian (2017) and Marcos and Belutti (2019): “The payment for such shows is not taken from the municipal budget. At the Bom Jesus event, tickets will be charged and the organizing committee estimates that sufficient revenue will be obtained for full coverage of the events that promote the festival and the Municipality throughout the country”. Tickets range from R$60 to R$250.
It was also informed by the city hall that “most of the booths present at this year’s party have already been sold by the organizing committee”, this being another revenue that would help to cover the costs of the event. THE Young pan contacted the advice of the duo Simone and Simaria, but has not yet received a response. In Bahia, the Superior Court of Justice (STJ) canceled the Festa da Banana de Teolândia last Sunday, 5th, the day the singer Gusttavo Lima, who was hired for R$ 704 thousand, was going to perform. The suspension of the event took place after the Public Ministry filed a lawsuit against the party, claiming that the amount of R$ 1.2 million spent on the artists’ fees is higher than the amount the city received from the federal government to deal with the damages. caused by the rains in December last year.
