On Monday, June 6, the international football arena will host seven matches of the 2022/23 Nations League. The choice for viewing is rich, but which meetings should you especially pay attention to?

Belarus – Azerbaijan (21:45)

Belarus and Azerbaijan have almost never represented a serious force at the world level, but this does not mean at all that their matches are boring and uninteresting. Both teams are going through the hardest times, and there are several intrigues in their face-to-face confrontation:

1. Will Azerbaijan be able to win the long-awaited victory? Over the past 15 matches, the Azerbaijanis have drawn twice (against Ireland and Qatar), and the players felt the taste of victory only once – just in the match with Belarus a year ago (2:1).

2. Will Belarus be 0-0 in the match? Surprisingly, the Belarusians almost never defend themselves at their gates, thanks to which chances are created at both gates. Because of this, in matches with the participation of Belarus, it is rarely possible to meet a score of 0:0, which was last recorded as much as three years ago.

3. Will Azerbaijan be able not to miss? At the end of 2020, Azerbaijan defended a goalless draw in 2020 against the Luxembourg national team, and since then the team has never been able to keep a clean sheet, and 16 matches have already passed. And if the missed goals from Portugal, Serbia and other eminent teams can be justified, then in the case of Qatar, Malta, Latvia and Kazakhstan, it is more difficult to do so.

Austria – Denmark (21:45)

Austria failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup, leaving behind Denmark, Scotland and even Israel, which is why the local football federation decided to replace the head coach. After the end of the club season, ex-Manchester United coach Ralph Rangnick came to the national team, who in his debut match in his new post created almost a miracle. Austria in the first round of the LN left no chance for the Croats in the away match, beating them with a score of 3:0.

But now Rangnik is waiting for the test even more difficult. One of the most progressive teams in the world, the Denmark national team, is going to Vienna. The Danes have already surprised everyone at the last European Championship, then they confidently went to the World Cup in Qatar, and in the first round of the new League of Nations, the Scandinavians beat the French team. Moreover, Benzema and the company led the score, but Cornelius, who came out in the second half, scored a double.

We are waiting for a cool match between the two attacking teams, which will definitely not be boring.

Croatia – France (21:45)

This rivalry can be safely given the prefix “principled” in recent years. It all started in 2018 when France beat Croatia 4-2 in the World Cup final. Since then, they have met two more times in the League of Nations, where each time the French became winners (4:2, 2:1).

Croatia has changed a lot compared to 2018, but many top players still play in its team: Modric, Brekalo, Kovacic, Kramaric and others. Pasalic and Vlasic deserve special attention, who will almost certainly appear from the first minutes in the match against the French.

The upcoming meeting is another chance for the Croats to prove that the crushing defeat from the Austrians was accidental and the team can still compete with the best teams in the world. On the other hand, the highly motivated French will play, who had not lost in official games since the summer of 2019 before the match with Denmark.
