The Bicameral Intelligence Commission (CBI) called a plenary meeting for Thursday 19 with hot agenda: it will have as axis the intervention of the organism in the case against Camioneros de San Nicolás. The opposition complained because Leopold Moreau requested a copy of the file. The President of the CBI responded, so far, that the regulations enable him to intervene in a case in a preliminary manner, he denounced an operation to retaliate against the work of the organization and on Thursday he will seek support from the plenary. The CBI has 14 members, 8 from the ruling party and 6 from the opposition. The agreement of the FdT would suffice to settle that questioning that the opposition spread through all the media since Moreau approached a sensitive file.
The case has as defendants referents of the Truckers union who protested and blocked the entrance to a plant, Distribuidora Rey, located in San Pedro. As Luciana Bertoia reported last Sunday in this newspaper, the company is represented in the file by Patricia Bullrich’s lawyer and former adviser, Florencia Arietto. The case is in the hands of Judge María Eugenia Maiztegui and Prosecutor María Del Valle Viviani. He has two people detained: Maximiliano Cabaleyro and Fernando Espíndola. Last Tuesday, May 10, trucker’s lawyerJavier Moral, appeared before the CBI and denounced possible violations of the intelligence law: transcripts of dialogues between lawyers and clients, which are prohibited, and exchanges of messages between one of the owners of the company and someone who would be an intelligence agent, and delivered confidential information of the union.
The CBI requested access to the file from the judge, asked the prosecution about the investigation, requested data from the Directorate of Judicial Assistance of the Court and the AFI. She did it other times in similar cases but this time, the alarms sounded.
Arietto said that Moreau was coercing justice. The Argentine Association of Prosecutors complained. Clarín newspaper expanded. And within the CBI, deputies Gerardo Milman and Cristian Ritondo (JxC) filed a request for information: at their discretion, Moreau presented his own without representation from the CBI. And he occupied a place that Justice should occupy.
The complaints are not only these. They come from a long time. The opposition discusses the agenda of the CBI that advances on the prohibited espionage of the macrismo but not on other requests. In this context, the faces will be seen on Thursday. The Presidency of the CBI summoned all the members to discuss two issues, first the request for reports from Milman and Ritondo.
