Like joe lockehis co-star in “heart stopper”, Kit Connor has had to face sudden fame due to the success of the series that already leads preferences on Netflix. In addition to the good things about popularity, such as the recognition of his work internationally, the 18-year-old actor has had to deal with not always positive comments on social networks.
Connor, who plays Nick Nelson in the series based on Alice Oseman’s webtoon, recently responded on his Twitter account to those who make claims about his sexual orientation without him publicly speaking about it.
LOOK: “Heartstopper”, will it have season 2 on Netflix?
In “Heartstopper,” the actor plays a young man who finds out he has fallen in love with his best friend from school and later comes out as bisexual. In real life, the actor has not commented on his romantic life or his sexuality, so it is striking that many feel empowered to comment on that aspect of his life.
“Twitter is so funny, man. Apparently some people here know more about my sexuality than I do,” Connor wrote.
The cast of “Heartstopper” features several young people who identify as members of the LGBTQ+ community. In addition to Joe Locke, actor Tobie Donovan identifies as gay. Kizzy Edgell, who plays Darcy Olsson, identifies as gender non-binary. And, just like in the series, Yasmin Finney (Elle Argent) is a transgender woman.
Recently, the artists starred on the cover of the LGBTQ magazine “Attitude”. “No matter who you are or what your sexuality is, you deserve to be happy,” was the message they expressed in the publication.
