INEM help "can be compromised" during the FC Porto festivities, warns union

During this Saturday, the waiting times for sending ambulances, in urgent situations, are half an hour, in the Porto area, since INEM will be unable to respond. The complaint is from the Union of Pre-Hospital Emergency Technicians, STEPH.

“Every day there are ambulances stopped for lack of technicians, but today is one of the worst days”, says the president of STEPH to CNN Portugal.

Rui Lázaro considers this a “recurring situation”, which is explained by the lack of INEM technicians. For the unionist, the aid “may be compromised during the day” since of the “six ambulances available, only one is operational in the city of Porto”.

In a written response to CNN Portugal, INEM guarantees that “there is not a single record of delay in the dispatch of the aid that is being closely monitored by INEM, precisely because of the increase in the number of people in the city this weekend”.

Despite the reported constraints, Invicta welcomes this Saturday thousands of blue and white fans to celebrate, in the street, the FC Porto title.
