You are currently viewing Cédric Jubillar: justice puts an end to a stubborn rumor about his fellow prisoner

After the confrontation between Cédric Jubillar and his ex-convict, the public prosecutor of Toulouse put an end to a rumour: no, Marco was not released in exchange for information.

The mystery still remains. Nearly a year and a half after the disappearance of Delphine Jubillar, the investigation seems to have stalled. Incarcerated and indicted for months, Cédric Jubillar continues to claim his innocence and ensures that the “confidences” he allegedly made to his cellmate were jokes. This Thursday, May 12, the plasterer and Marco were confronted in the office of the investigating judges. And faced with a tenacious rumor, the public prosecutor of Toulouse spoke. According to him, this witness was not released earlier in exchange for information, as Cédric Jubillar’s lawyers suggested. “This witness informed the prison services of his wish to contact the investigators on September 28, 2021”he explained, according to BFM TV.

“At the time of this process, he was serving a one-year prison sentence in the Seysses prison center for the insults and threats committed in 2018 against one of the prison administration officers. He was released the next day, the date of end of his sentencerecalled the public prosecutor of Toulouse. This witness neither asked for nor received any favor in return for his testimony, nor was it promised to him.” According to the Parisian, Cédric Jubillar would have said to Marco, early one morning while he was smoking a joint in the prison : “I freaked out, I got rid of her”. The plasterer would then have explained to him that he killed Delphine Jubillar with a knife before burying her body near a place that had recently burned down. But the police search turned up nothing..

Cédric Jubillar “always said he was innocent”

This court meeting “did not lead to any serious progress”, according to Cédric Jubillar’s lawyers quoted by La Dépêche. “This man claims to have been the concealer of confidences which are analyzed by the prosecution as being confessions of Cédric Jubillar. In the end, everything said by this man has been verified (place of location of the body, car which would have used to transport it) and all this turns out to be false. There is no revelation and no confidence that corresponds to a reality, lamented Alexandre Martin, one of Cédric Jubillar’s lawyers. Cédric Jubillar always said he was innocent. But by dint of being harassed by prisoners, he told this man, tired of fighting, that he had buried Delphine at the farm which burned down. As he had said before. This place has been searched many times but his statements are not based on any reality.”
