A boat with dozens of immigrants on board sank this Thursday, 12, in the coastal area of Puerto Rico, causing the death of at least 11 people. The accident happened about 10 nautical miles north of the Puerto Rican islet of Desecheo. The information was released by the US Coast Guard. U.S, in messages on social networks. According to the Coast Guard statement, this is “a case of the mass rescue of an unspecified number of people in the water”.

On Thursday, the Coast Guard announced that it had repatriated 44 Dominicans after two ships were intercepted trying to illegally reach the west coast of Puerto Rico.
