the board of Sao Paulo agreed the sale of two players from its squad on the afternoon of this Friday, 13th. They are the goalkeeper Tiago Volpi and the attacker marquinhos. The archer, currently with reserve status on the Rogerio Ceniwill return to Mexican football to wear the colors of the toluca. The 19-year-old winger, coming from the basic categories of Tricolor, will be the new reinforcement of the Arsenal, from England. Negotiated, both no longer wear the São Paulo colors and will say goodbye to Morumbi’s companions in the next few hours.

Hired from Querétaro (Mexico) in 2019, Tiago Volpi had a promising start at São Paulo and was important in the conquest of Paulistão in 2021, when the club came out of a row of almost nine seasons without a title. The 31-year-old player, however, lost ground this season, when the São Paulo board closed the hiring of Jandrei, who took the position. After costing about R$21 million to Tricolor’s coffers, the archer will be traded with Toluca for 1.5 million dollars (in the current price, R$ 8.6 million), as reported by reporter Gabriel Sá, from Grupo Jovem Pan. In all, he defended the team in 193 matches.

Marquinhos, in turn, is a bred from the base of São Paulo and is being traded to Arsenal for just 3.5 million euros (R$ 18.4 million). Even though he has a contract with Tricolor until 2024, the striker will leave the club for a low amount due to a breach in his contract, signed in 2019, when he was only 16 years old – according to FIFA, the first agreement of a professional athlete can last for a maximum of three years. So, in order not to lose the promise “for free” in July, three years after the initial signature, the São Paulo board decided to accept the modest offer from the British. In all, the athlete played 41 games with the main team, contributing 4 goals.
