Macarena Olona: «We are going to have to put in the curriculum how much the period hurts»

The Vox candidate for the Andalusian Government, Macarena Olonahas spoken this Friday about the sick leave by painful rule that the Ministry of Equality intends to incorporate in the new abortion law. “We are going to have to put on the resume how much the period hurts me,” she pointed out ironically.

Speaking to the media during his visit to the Jerez de la Frontera Horse Fair (Cádiz), Olona stated that, «As a woman, I even find it insulting». The head of the Vox list for the 19J elections has opposed the granting of sick leave for suffering from a painful period with people who suffer from “extremely painful diseases” and lack that possibility, such as cancer patients. “I have met with people affected by this serious illness and they have explained to me that treatment is impossible and make it compatible with work obligations,” she lamented.

The Ministry of Equality from Irene Montero reached an agreement this Friday with the Ministry of Social Security to cover this type of leave, which will be assumed by the State from the first day and will last as long as the woman needs. The measures will be included in the abortion law that the Council of Ministers expects to approve next Tuesday.

Abortion law

Olona has also demanded that “no more facilities be given to abort than to form a family.” «It has been said that Vox is the party that wants to have women in the kitchen. I just say that we want to give women freedom to choose“, has added. The still deputy has warned that “without young people there is no future or hope” and has criticized the absence of aid to promote the birth rate.

“We want women not to be forced to resort to assisted reproduction techniques if they want to be mothers,” said the Vox candidate for the Andalusian elections, who pointed out the fact that “it still happens that a woman stays pregnant has fear of being fired». Vox’s claim is that, “for an employer, having a pregnant woman is a winning lottery”, for which he has asked “to hire women with offspring or to become pregnant while on staff”.

Olona’s conclusion is clear. With the abortion reform, the Government intends to put this debate on the table “so that nothing else is talked about”. “The left wants us to talk about the rule so that we don’t talk about the price of gasoline at two euros a liter” or the “increase in the shopping basket,” he denounced. And that is why this Friday they wake us up «with the big headline of the day: Macarena Olona is registered in Granada», he ironized.

The Vox candidate for the Board has reaffirmed the message that “the family must be the center of all public policies” and has argued that “Today’s society leads us to a deep loneliness». Women in their 50s and 60s «find themselves in the solitude of their sofa and with the echo of empty walls. They have been scammed because happiness was not that, it is not coming home alone and drunk », she has settled.

Already in an electoral message, Olona has asked the Andalusians to be “ambitious”, since “the actual change we are brushing it with the fingers of the hand».
