He jumped a cliff and died: his partner filmed the tragedy

A 31-year-old tourist of Dutch nationality has died this Thursday after hitting the rocks when he jumped into the sea from a cliff on the islets of the Malgrats Islands, in the Mallorcan municipality of Calvià. The incident occurred this Thursday around 1:45 p.m. in this rocky area of ​​the Calvià coast, reported the Urgent Medical Care Service (SAMU 061).

The couple of the unfortunate deceased tourist was recording the scene with a mobile phone from a boat they had rented to navigate the area. Jumping, the man hits a rock moments before reaching the water.

The body of the fatal victim has been located by the GEAS (Special Group for Underwater Activities) of the Civil Guard at the bottom of the sea and hours later, due to the depth in which it was found, they were able to extract it, according to information published by the newspaper Última Hora. The ill-fated daredevil then launched himself from the high cliff, but apparently realized that his jump was not going to make it past the sharp jagged rocks below, which he collided hard with before crashing into the water while launching a terrifying scream.

Another deadly blunder

This Thursday was not the only tragedy that occurred in the last few hours in Spain. A 34-year-old man of British nationality moved recklessly this Thursday morning holding on to the other side of the balcony railing, from one part to another, on the seventh floor of the South Beach hotel in Magaluf. At one point, the victim breaks free and plummets to certain death.

According to the story of the Diario de Mallorca, the witnesses immediately called the emergency services to attend to the victim. Ib-salut health care attended in a mobile ICU, but could only certify her death. Agents from the Calvià Local Police and members of the Civil Guard were also mobilized to carry out the corresponding expert reports.

The experts of the Judicial Police began to investigate in depth the case that shocked the tourists of Magaluf, one of the centers of greatest excesses in Spain during the holiday season. The first testimonies referred to the “strange behavior” of this individual on the balcony, completely out of his mind before falling into the void with fatal destiny.

The tourist’s death was reported to the Palma guard court. The judge ordered the removal of the body and the body was transferred to the Institute of Legal Medicine to perform an autopsy, the local newspaper said.
