Vienna – Friday, May 13, 2022, 5:24 p.m

The European League of Football (ELF), which starts its second season at the beginning of June with the Austrian debutant teams Vienna Vikings and Raiders Tirol, will continue to grow in the coming year.

On Friday in Hamburg, ELF Commissioner Patrick Esume will present the Milano Seamen, the Hungarian Enthroners from Szekesfehervar and the Zurich team Helvetic Guards as newcomers for 2023. Italy, Switzerland and Hungary will be represented in the ELF for the first time.

After the debut season last year with eight teams from three countries, twelve teams from five nations are at the start this year. For 2023, Esume can already plan with at least 15 teams from eight countries.

“Italy, Switzerland and Hungary are not only highly attractive locations, the franchises from Milan and Szekesfehervar also have plenty of experience and infrastructure to play a good sporting role,” says Esume, whose declared goal is a European professional championship with 24 clubs from ten to twelve countries.

This year’s ELF final will take place on September 25th in Klagenfurt’s Wörthersee Stadium.
