Google has ensured that billions of users who use Google Chrome could be affected by security vulnerabilities in their browser. As reported in Forbesthe company has detected a total of 13 vulnerabilities.
Of the 13 security breaches detected, 9 have been classified as having the severity of common vulnerabilities and exposures. The rest are less problematic, but experts recommend that users update Chrome as soon as possible to avoid cyber risks.
The fact that browser security bugs have been detected does not mean that cybercriminals have used them. The company has not detected any evidence that hackers have resorted to these flawsBut that doesn’t mean it won’t happen.
How to update Chrome to avoid security flaws?
- Access the ‘Settings’ of the browserwhich is among the options available in the three vertical dots in the upper right corner.
- Once inside, click on ‘Chrome info’which is last in the list of options on the left.
- The browser will automatically update 101.0.4951.64. Once finished, reboot the device.
In the event that the latest update still does not appear on your computer or mobile, it is advisable to be attentive to do it as soon as it is available. According to Google, the latest version of Chrome is being added now and possibly the update will reach you”in the coming days”.
Failures like the ones Google has detected are quite common. To fix them, companies often upgrade their services. Without going any further, earlier this month Google found another 29 vulnerabilities. These were fixed with the previous update.
