Tchibo: Strong allegations! Company is said to have stolen product
These allegations against Tchibo have it all.
A Berlin fashion label is currently anything but good about the company. Tchibo has now commented on the allegations.
Tchibo: Violent allegations from Berlin fashion label!
In a post on Instagram, the Berlin fashion label “Wayks” reported that a customer had pointed out that Tchibo in Berlin was selling a bag that looked very similar to the one from “Wayks”. “After looking at her photos, we had to agree: they looked amazingly similar to our product,” the post continued.
Information about Tchibo:
- Tchibo GmbH, based in Hamburg, is one of the largest German consumer goods and retail companies.
- Tchibo is 100% owned by the Herz family via Maxingvest.
- The company’s CEO is Werner Weber
“So we did a little research and found out that in April 2021 our just launched ‘Wayks Sling Combo’ and ‘WayksOne Travel Backpack’ were ordered through our website. Delivery address: Überseering 18, 22297 Hamburg – where Tchibo’s headquarters are located.” Tchibo was asked for a statement, but received none.
Tchibo comments on allegations
When this editor asked Tchibo, however, the answer was: “Tchibo offers over 5,000 products from a wide variety of subject areas every year. We follow trends, let ourselves be inspired and develop our own products from them.
There may be similarities with other items. But harming other companies by copying their products is not in line with our business principle.
