Maximilian Wöber wants to go abroad again

Vienna – Thursday, May 12, 2022, 9:10 a.m

With Karim Adeyemi, Red Bull Salzburg is the first important player to leave before the transfer summer has really started.

The “bulls” are preparing for further departures. “One or the other will probably leave the club,” says sports director Christoph Freund to the “Crown“.

One of them could be Maximilian Wöber. The defender makes no secret of the fact that he wants to make the leap abroad again.

“I feel very comfortable at Red Bull Salzburg. But at some point I want to prove myself again in a bigger league,” he explains in the “today“.

Comeback in the ÖFB team?

For the 24-year-old, it would be the third stop outside of Austria after Ajax and Seville. Recently there have been rumors that Wöber is a hot candidate at VfL Wolfsburg, who is currently looking for a central defender.

Wöber’s contract in Salzburg runs until the summer of 2024.

In the national team, the central defender under Franco Foda didn’t have a body. Will that change under Ralf Rangnick? “He has a lot of experience. I can only impose myself with good performances,” says Wöber.
