The Pan-American put first: this Thursday they go out on the road

Everything is ready. The Pan American Road Cycling Championship returns to San Juan after several years and will feature the participation of 200 cyclists from 23 countries. This Thursday they will put first and will culminate on Sunday.

In the preview of the competition, this Wednesday night the press conference that presented the event in society was held. The ceremony took place in the internal hall of the Hotel Del Bono Park and was attended by José Manuel Peláez, president of the Pan American Cycling Confederation (COPACI); Gabriel Curuchet, president of the Cycling Union of the Argentine Republic; Juan José Chica, president of the Sanjuanina Cycling Federation and local authorities.

José Manuel Peláez was satisfied to be in the province and said so: “We are in San Juan, which has become our home. A province that is undergoing a revolution in sport in all aspects. With its people who are noticeable as he loves cycling. Our confederation will be 100 years old and we are very happy to celebrate it here, with these people who give us so much affection and love”, expressed the president of COPACI,

While Gabriel Curuchet also expressed: “Once again San Juan opens its doors for us, this time for the Pan-American Road Race and on the centenary of COPACI. We are here with more than 20 selections and 200 registered. After two years we return with an international competition and that is a reason for joy and pride”, commented the president of the Argentine Federation.

Of course, there was also representation by the cyclists and it was Nicolás Tivani, the most successful cyclist at the national level, who gave his opinion: “It generates an enormous responsibility to have this Pan American in the province. It is something wonderful and we will enjoy it a lot. the colors of the national team in our province is a plus so we will leave the light blue and white as high as possible”, he said.

The competition will begin this Thursday with the individual time trials in Ladies, Men Sub-23 and Men Elite. The start will be from the Las Moras street roundabout and the Interlagos route, in Zonda. The elite ladies will be in charge of opening the itinerary with the individual time trial starting at 1:00 p.m. Then, from 2:30 p.m., it will be the turn of the Under 23 men and finally, from 4:00 p.m., it will be the turn of the Elite men.
