SALTILLO, COAH.- In its most recent meeting, the COVID-19 Southeast Regional Technical Subcommittee has determined the possibility that employees of some of the areas of local companies can withdraw the face mask while doing their job duties.
The foregoing was put on the table of the Subcommittee at the request of the directors of the private initiativeaccording to the mayorand Jose Maria Fraustro Siller.
“There is already an important protocol for this, for those companies that no longer want to use the mask in some of their areas, especially manufacturing and assembly. It can be done, as long as they follow what is established by Salud Coahuila; this practically goes hand in hand with the control we have of CO2, that we can have good ventilation in places and that people are vaccinated”, he comments.

This protocol also responds to the low incidence of cases of contagion of COVID-19, The number of hospitalizations and the percentage of positivity which remains below the red numbers.
However, they stated that the health contingency has not ended and that in some places outbreaks of variants such as Omicron have been reportedso it is necessary for all citizens to continue with the prevention measures warned by the health authorities.
“The decisions we have made are very responsible to care for the health of the population, we remain very aware of the indicators. If there is any increase we will make the pertinent decisions”, points out the mayor of Saltillo, Jose Maria Fraustro Siller.

For the creation of the protocol, representatives of the private initiative were taken into account, such as merchants from the downtown area, shopping mallsfrom markets on wheels, hoteliers, event rooms, restaurateurs and among others.
