The president Jair Bolsonaro(PL) changed the command of the Ministry of Mines and Energy. The new minister has a doctorate in economics from the University of Brasília (UnB) and a postdoctoral degree from the University of Alabama, in the United States. Before assuming command of the portfolio, he held the position of head of the Special Advisory for Strategic Affairs at the Ministry of Economy. Previously, also in the portfolio headed by Paulo Guedes, Sachsida was Secretary of Economic Policy, a position he has held since the beginning of the Bolsonaro government, in January 2019.

For Ana Paula Henkel, commentator on the program Os Pingos Nos Is, on Young Pan News, the exchange at the Ministry of Mines and Energy shows that Bolsonaro is on the path to economic and intellectual freedom. “THE now Minister Adolfo Sachsida comes from IPEA, he was secretary of economic policy, right arm of Paulo Guedes, and he understands very well that for a nation to be prosperous, it has to be free, and that starts with economic freedom”, he said. “IInteresting this exchange now. This could be a positive point for President Bolsonaro on his way to the presidential campaign for re-election in October, to show the Brazilian that this freedom will be part of a future government in the next 4 years”, he concluded.
