Ambassador of the LPR in Russia Miroshnik announced the need to liberate the entire territory of the republic
The Ambassador of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) to Russia, Rodion Miroshnik, admitted that the LPR military and provisional administrations can control nearby territories to ensure national security. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
According to him, the task of the LPR is precisely to ensure security on the territory of the entire republic. Miroshnik stressed that, first of all, it is necessary to liberate the territories that belong to the LPR, in accordance with its constitution.
Earlier, Miroshnik called the main task for the LNR – to establish control over the entire Luhansk region of Ukraine.
As soon as we understand that our entire territory has been cleared, then we will be able to raise other questions about interaction at the level of our armed forces.
On April 19, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stressed that the special operation was aimed at the “complete liberation” of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics within the borders proclaimed as a result of the 2014 popular referendum.
Recognition of the republics
In the same interview, Miroshnik spoke about the negotiations on the recognition of the republic in a number of countries. According to him, currently the dialogue is being conducted with many partners. “Officially, now we can say that organizational issues are now being resolved with Syria and Venezuela,” he said.
The ambassador added that negotiations are underway with “a number of other states that are interested in establishing relations,” but at the moment the LPR cannot disclose this information.
Miroshnik also noted that the LPR would take weeks to organize the work of the embassy in Moscow. “We expect that within a certain number of weeks we will need time to prepare the office, to prepare the community itself, so that people come here, our diplomats come here on a business trip, take their jobs,” he explained, promising subsequently invite representatives of Russia and colleagues from embassies of other states and international organizations to a diplomatic ceremony.
In April, Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that Moscow had been forced to recognize the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics because the Kyiv authorities, pushed by the West, refused to comply with the Minsk agreements. The main task of the special operation in Ukraine, the Russian leader called helping people living in the Donbass.
The current situation in the republic
On May 10, Izvestia reported that in the city of Kremennaya, which came under the control of the LPR on April 19, Ukrainian saboteurs destroyed a warehouse with humanitarian aid. The war correspondent of the publication, Dmitry Zimenkin, indicated that the fighting in Kremennaya had already ended, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine had switched to intensive sabotage work.
The burned warehouse with things in the building of the sports complex became one of the evidence of such actions by Kyiv. “People collected humanitarian aid here. But one night someone took it and burned it all. Who are they fighting with? It turns out, with their own people, ”said Zimenkin.
On May 8, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, announced that the city of Popasnaya in the LPR had been completely liberated from Ukrainian troops. The next day, the official representative of the defense department of the LPR, Ivan Filiponenko, confirmed the establishment of full control over this settlement. The representative of the department also noted that the LPR units, with the support of the Russian Armed Forces, liberated the city and forced the enemy to leave its borders. According to him, work is underway in the city to restore the humanitarian situation and restore normal life support.
On May 9, at the memorial complex “Heroes” in Luhansk Starobelsk, liberated from the Kyiv security forces, a solemn lighting of the Eternal Flame brought from Moscow took place. Memorials also appeared in Anthracite and Krasnodon.
