Carrasquilla made his professional debut in 2018 with Tauro FC of the Panamanian Soccer League.
The Houston Dynamo FC exercised the option to purchase Panamanian international midfielder Adalberto “Coco” Carrasquilla, who was linked to FC Cartagena of Spain’s LaLiga SmartBank, both clubs announced today.
Carrasquilla, 23, now has a guaranteed contract with the Dynamo through the 2024 season, the Houston team announced.
“Coco is one of the biggest young talents in MLS, he believes in the direction this club is headed, so securing his future with the Dynamo was one of our top priorities this summer,” said General Manager of the Dynamo, Pat Onstad.
“Coco has a bright future ahead of him and we appreciate that he and his family are excited to remain in Houston,” added Onstad.
Carrasquilla joined the Dynamo on August 5, 2021 after being loaned out by FC Cartagena.
Very happy to be able to stay in the club that today places its trust in me. In @houstondynamo They have shown me all their love and now it’s time to continue giving everything for this shirt. I am happy to continue with you and our fans to tell you that #keepcoco it is a fact pic.twitter.com/xymy6uw8Ca
