Until now, Cupra offered its Born electric and sporty compact with the 150 kW motor, the equivalent of 204 horsepower, and the 58 kWh battery, but now open orders for a new top-of-the-range version equipped with the large 77 kWh battery. This variant, in addition to seeing its autonomy extended to 546 kilometres, is associated with the e-boost power pack with which it can reach peaks of 170 kW (231 hp) at specific moments. With both elements, the Born accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7 seconds, only 0.4 more than the version with e-Boost pack and 58 kWh battery.

As for energy management and driving, Range, Comfort, Performance, Individual and Cupra modes are available as standard on the new model,rest of the gearbox regenerative system in position “B”. Connected to the electricity grid, the Born with a 77 kWh battery it can be fully charged in seven and a half hours at an 11 kW point and in just 36 minutes at an ultra-fast 135 kW pole.

The new version will initially be available in a four-seater configuration, so as of August to also have the conventional five. The price of the Cupra Born e-Boost Pack & Battery Pack amounts to 44,770 euros, but with the Moves III plan it could be acquired, delivering a car to be scrapped, with a help of 7,000 euros.

The equipment keeps serial items such as progressive steering or ESC Sport stability control, but it also adds 19-inch wheels and larger diameter brake discs.
