A day of celebration for the 10 years of validity of the Gender Identity Law will be carried out today by the Ministry of Women, Gender and Diversity of the Nation in Ramos Mejía (province of Buenos Aires), with the participation of diversity organizations and authorities from different agencies of the national and provincial state.
The central act will take place at the facilities of the Northwest Decentralized Region of Avenida Rivadavia 13,518 in the Buenos Aires town of Ramos Mejía, starting at 5:00 p.m.
The main activity will consist of a panel with officials from the national portfolio; the Ministry of Women, Gender Policies and Sexual Diversity of the Province of Buenos Aires; and the Secretariat for Women, Gender Policies and Diversities of the Municipality of La Matanza, among other authorities present and representatives of various organizations.
Hours before, starting at 2:30 p.m. and in the same place, there will be a “forum of LGBTI + organizations (lesbians, gays, bisexuals, trans and other minorities such as pansexuals)”.
To close the day, the artist Ayelén Beker will offer a musical show.
For its part, the Chamber of Deputies of the Nation will also hold an act of celebration today for the 10 years of the law, at 5:00 p.m. in the Hall of Lost Steps.
Meanwhile, the national senator, Carlos Alberto Linares, together with the Argentine LGBT+ Federation and the Association of Transvestites, Transsexuals and Transgenders of Argentina (Attta) will lead a meeting for the same anniversary today at 2:00 p.m. in the Blue Room of the Senate. The Identity Law was approved on May 9, 2012.
