You are currently viewing Dollar for few: increasingly restricted

The Government updated the list of groups of people who can officially acquire up to US$200, in what is known as the savings dollar. With this renewal, those who collect the new state bonus of $18,000 for monotributistas category A and B, informal workers and domestic workers were excluded from the benefit of obtaining foreign currency through this means.

The Income Reinforcement granted by the ANSES contemplates two payments of $9,000 in two installments, one to be granted as of May 19 and the other in June, on a date that remains to be defined. According to the provisions of the Government, those beneficiaries of this contribution will not be able to access the foreign exchange market for six months.

Therefore, this new group joins the list of those who cannot acquire the savings dollar, which includes:

Beneficiaries of an Anses plan or program, such as the Universal Child Allowance (AUH) or the Universal Pregnancy Allowance (AUE).

Dependent workers who have received part of their salary through the Work and Production Assistance program (ATP) or REPRO II.

People without declared or “consistent” income.

Co-holders of bank accounts.

Those who have already used their entire quota (US$200 per month) through purchases with a credit or debit card.

Those who have refinanced a 12-month credit card balance.

Monotributistas who have processed credits at zero rate.

Those who have acquired financial dollars in the previous 90 days.

UVA credit holders who agreed to the freezing of quotas during the pandemic.

Owners of SMEs who have received loans at 24%

How do I know if I am enabled?

The ANSES made available to the public a database with which one can check if one is authorized to purchase foreign currency or has any restrictions.

The site is located at www.anses.gob.ar/consulta/certificacion-negativa and operates as follows:

Once on the site, you must enter the person’s CUIL number and Social Security code.

Then, already in My Anses, you have to go to “Personal information” and then to “Negative certification”.

The next step is to enter the date on which you want to know the status of the situation for the purchase of dollars.

In addition, you have to type a captcha code that appears on the screen.

Once the data has been entered, the Anses system will indicate if it is possible to access the purchase of dollars. The message “Negative Certification Denied” indicates that the person is authorized to buy dollars. Here is an example:

In this way, the procedure to know if I can access the solidarity dollar quota is concluded.
