TBILISI, May 5 – Sputnik. Employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia will gradually move from the building on Chitadze Street, 4, to Leonidze Street, 3 (the former building of the National Bank of Georgia), the press service of the department reports. At a government meeting on April 18, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said that the existing building of the Foreign Affairs of Georgia will undergo a complete reconstruction as part of a large-scale state program for the construction and restoration of public infrastructure facilities. The press service notes that the move to another building is taking place as part of the Prime Minister’s initiative to improve public infrastructure. The number of employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs accelerated due to the strong earthquakes on February 13 and April 25, as a result of which new cracks appeared in the building. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia has been located on Chitadze Street since the 1990s. At the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, the building housed the Institute of Noble Maidens.

TBILISI, May 5 – Sputnik. Employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia will gradually move from the building on Chitadze Street, 4, to Leonidze Street, 3 (the former building of the National Bank of Georgia), the press service of the department reports.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili announced at a government meeting on April 18 that the existing building of the Georgian Foreign Ministry will undergo a complete reconstruction as part of a large-scale state program for the construction and restoration of public infrastructure facilities.
“The building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is quite old, its stability is questionable, and the conclusion of the examination confirms that the building needs rehabilitation. Accordingly, it is planned to gradually transfer employees to the building located at Leonidze Street, 3,” the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
The press service notes that the move to another building is part of the Prime Minister’s initiative to improve public infrastructure.
At the same time, according to a number of media reports, the movement of Foreign Ministry employees accelerated due to strong earthquakes on February 13 and April 25, as a result of which new cracks appeared in the building.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia has been located on Chitadze Street since the 1990s. At the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, the building housed the Institute of Noble Maidens.
