The decision of the parliamentarians is given after knowing the antecedents about the presence of carabineros in at least one of the damaged stations at the beginning of the social outbreak.

With 72 signatures, a group of deputies and deputies presented the request to create a special investigative commission to investigate the actions of State agencies, especially police and intelligence institutions during the simultaneous burning of Metro stations during the start of the social outburst.
The deputy Carmen Hertz indicated that the objective is to clear up the doubts that exist regarding the actions that took place during those days, particularly of the Carabineros officials who appear in a journalistic investigation inside a metropolitan train station shortly before it was damaged.
“This request is based on the one hand on the almost null conclusions of the Prosecutor’s Office in which some people have been formalized and ultimately others have been acquitted because ultimately the evidence delivered has been manipulated or distorted, therefore we have a Prosecutor’s Office, and I mean straight up, inept,” Hertz said.
The communist parliamentarian maintained that to the foregoing is added “the journalistic investigation that casts doubt on how manipulable the Metro’s remote surveillance system is and we have to determine if characters from OS 9 were indeed monitoring the Metro’s comprehensive communications center, which as you know, it cares not only about public transportation but also about taking care of its infrastructure”.
Hertz pointed out that “all these questions are the ones that we intend to answer in some way in this investigative commission and mention all those who have participated in this dark episode that has passed two years and we still do not know with certainty how it was administered, how the information was managed of the remote surveillance system and whether or not there were intelligence personnel.”
The proposal to create the parliamentary body will be reviewed by the Chamber of Deputies next week.
