This weekend San Juan will once again host the Argentine Road Cycling Championships 2022 and although initially the circuits would go to the Ullum and Punta Negra dams, they were finally modified and All activity will focus on the Avenida de Circunvalación and the San Juan-Villicum Circuit. This was reported from the Sanjuanina Cycling Federation on the afternoon of this Tuesday. The San Juan entity together with the Argentine Federation of Track and Road Cycling (FACPyR) are the organizers of the tests.
The changes of routes are due purely and exclusively to a request from the tourism providers. With almost full hotel reservations in the province and taking into account that the Ullum and Punta Negra dams are the chosen tourist destination par excellence, they understand that roadblocks can discourage tourists.
In this way, the Argentinian will distribute its activity Friday and Sunday on the Avenida de Circunvalación, while on Saturday everything will focus on the albardonero layout. On Friday there will be individual time trials in the Circunvalación, this road will be closed from 11 am to 6:30 pm, the section of the Circunvalación between General Acha and Mendoza will be closed from 7, since the podium will be set up there. LThe ladies will start at 12:30 p.m. and will make a turn (16 kilometers), then at 1:30 p.m. the Sub 23 men will come, who will make two turns (32 kilometers), finally at 3:00 p.m. the Elite will leave, who will give two and a half turns and total the 40 kilometers.
On Saturday, everything will focus on El Villicum. In the morning there will be the adapted cycling tests and at 3:30 p.m. the ladies’ platoon test will take place, which will complete 20 laps of the circuit to total 86 kilometres.
The closure will take place on Sunday and will be distributed between El Villicum and Avenida. Traffic on the Circunvalación will be interrupted throughout the ring from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.. The Sub 23 will start at 9 o’clock from the albardonero circuit and then they will come by route to connect Circunvalación and make six turns to the ring, by the same route they will return to Villicum they will make two more turns to total 140 kilometers and will define the champion. At 1:30 p.m. the Elite platoon test will start, they will also come from Albardón, they will turn 8 times to the avenue to close again in El Villicum after going five laps to the track (185 kilometers).
