If the current idea doesn’t work, Aston Martin already has a new concept up its sleeve. “The car you see now is very different than the car we have in the wind tunnel. And I’m sure everyone in the pit lane feels the same way,” said Tom McCullough, Aston Martin’s performance director.

Formula 1: New version of the AMR22 is already available

In the background, Aston Martin is already working on a new version of the AMR22. McCullough announced that several updates will be made to the car over the course of the season. When it came to the design, they didn’t settle on a philosophy – primarily to be able to react quickly.

Mercedes showed how quickly something like this can happen. In the two weeks from the tests in Barcelona to the tests in Bahrain, the sidepods were fundamentally changed and a new concept was presented.
