After the declaration in court of the former officials of María Eugenia Vidal in 2017, it is expected that next week the mayor, Julio Garro, and the provincial senator of Together Juan Pablo Allan will go to the federal courts of La Plata, although in this last case his statement before the judge is still a question mark.
As this newspaper has been publishing, Juan Pablo Allan from La Plata had been summoned to testify before Judge Kreplak to explain his presence at the meeting at the Buenos Aires headquarters of Banco Provincia, which was filmed and prompted the start of the investigation.
The date for the inquiry is March 21. However, the realization of that presentation is still unknown due to the nature of his powers as a legislator, which could exempt him from providing such a statement.
As is known, in the Province there are no privileges in the style of those that national legislators have to appear before justice. However, the provincial Constitution does grant the members of the Legislature special powers that would include that aspect.
However, and due to Allan’s presence at the controversial meeting that was recorded by former AFI agents, the federal judge in charge of the investigation, Ernesto Kreplak, sent his summons to the provincial Senate for Monday the 21st.
It will now be a legal analysis commission of the Upper House that determines the interpretation of the norm according to the situation and decides whether it is appropriate for the senator to appear or not to testify. From the Frente de Todos block, yesterday, some affirmed that there is an interpretation that would not include the mere summons to testify as part of the powers of a Buenos Aires legislator. That line -he said last week to EL DIA- is the one that is also analyzed by the head of the Peronist caucus in the Senate, María Teresa García.
However, in the Juntos bench they affirm that Allan has not yet been notified of any decision, and that the legislator was analyzing a spontaneous presentation before the magistrate investigating the case under investigation. Meanwhile, the session called for today to evaluate the issue at the venue was suspended.
