The underhand storage is back again.

Monfils (ATP-28) had to face number 1 Medvedev in the 1/16th finals.

The Russian won the 1st set, but at an important moment – at 2 set points in set 2 – Monfils pulled out with an underhand serve. Medvedev hit the ball that was full effect. Monfils enjoyed his action and celebrated with the crowd.

It was the start of something beautiful, because the 3rd set was also for the Frenchman. Medvedev thus lost his number 1 position.

The underhand serve shows up again in matches. The opponent cannot always laugh at that, but for the audience it is a feast for the eyes.

We also saw the phenomenon emerge in the Australian Open. Australian Nick Kyrgios hit an underhand serve through his legs in the first round and gave his opponent Liam Broady the finish.
