On February 22, it was known that the publisher Ernest Folch recovered Editorial Navona to edit a memoir of the former Vice President of the Government and former Secretary General of Podemos Pablo Iglesias. What was unknown until now was the cumbersome business network that has been created around the new book by Iglesias and behind which is the Trotskyist billionaire Jaume Roures.

«The contracting party of the first part will be considered as the contracting party of the first part (…) the contracting party of the second part will be considered as the contracting party of the second part. Why don’t we make the first part of the second contracting party the second part of the first part? Dialogue belongs to the movie A Night at the Opera and it serves to perfectly explain the corporate framework of the publisher of the new book by Pablo Iglesias, Editorial Navona.

The company Suma Llibres SL became the sole administrator of Folch & Folch Editors SL on October 22, 2021, at the same time that Ernest Folch, a well-known Catalan publisher, and José María (Tatxo) Benet Ferran, partner of Jaume Roures in innumerable businesses. In that same act, Roures himself was named its representative.

But that same day the company Folch & Folch Editors became the sole administrator of Suma Llibres. On October 22, 2021, Mediacable Production Services also became president of Suma Llibres. And on December 28, 2021, the company Cala Tirant and Atas Corp SL joined as CEO. On December 15, 2021, to curl the loop, Suma Llibres became president of Atmarcadia SL

A month earlier, on November 23, 2021, Suma Llibres became the sole partner of Editorial Navona. But everything does not end there: Suma Llibres began operating on June 7, 2021, with the corporate purpose of “advice with a view to the direction, administration and management of publishing companies and with a similar or complementary purpose the provision of administrative advisory services ». Its share capital was 90,000 euros and Mediacable Production Services was appointed as its president on October 22, 2021. Atas Corporación SL -represented by Tatxo Benet- entered two months later as a director. And Cala Tirant -represented by Ernest Folch- was noted in the Registry as CEO.

James Rouresin turn, appeared as a representative of Suma from that moment.

But what happened to Navona, which, after all, was the publisher of Pablo Iglesias’ book? After Suma Llibres became its sole partner and administrator, on February 9, 2022, Jaume Roures and Ernest Folch were appointed joint and several representatives. Ernest Folch himself tried to explain at that time the entry of two new partners, Roures and Benet, into the Navona publishing house because it meant “not starting from scratch, nor a pure and simple purchase”.

At least both Folch & Folch and Editorial Navona share a corporate purpose: “Preparation of editorial products (books, magazines, etc.) in any format and support (…)”, but it is surprising that the other party involved, Suma Llibres, had In its beginnings, the corporate purpose was “the production and retail sale of ice cream, the operation of franchises in the food products sector in specialized establishments”, which was actually the corporate purpose of its previous name, Gel i Llimona SL A curious mess to edit a book: the memoirs of Pablo Iglesias.
