The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, has once again been the victim of ridicule on social networks for posturing while working to manage the Russian invasion of Ukraine. He first photographed himself exhausted, on the verge of falling apart due to the difficulty of the conflict. Today he copies the look of the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskyand he appears as if he were an icon of the war dressed in a sweatshirt, jeans and a two-day beard.
It seems that Macron wants to take advantage of the Ukrainian’s pull. Zelensky has become a symbol of the resistance, a born leader who supports his population and who has stood up since Kyiv to the invasion of Vladimir Putin. The Frenchman wants to receive the same praise that the president of Ukraine is arousing due to his closeness and for this he photographs himself working from his office with a very similar style.
The images have been published by Macron’s official photographer, Soazig de la Moissoniere, on his Instagram account. From the Elysée office, the French president managed the conflict with Russia, speaking with international leaders such as Zelensky himself or the president of the United States, Joe Bidendressed in a very casual look.
With several days’ growth of beard, a sweatshirt with the CPA 10 logo, which corresponds to a French special force of paratroopers, and jeans, the France’s president it transmits to its population a weariness, exhaustion and closeness that many have interpreted as a cheap copy of the Ukrainian, whose style is understood when besieged by the Russians in kyiv.
