There are road closures in Veraguas and Darién due to the terrible state of the schools.

The appalling conditions in which some stalls are found has provoked protests from students, parents and teachers from the Professional and Technical Institute of Veraguas (IPTV) and the Marco Alarcón School in Darién.
IPTV students painted war paint and made the decision this morning to close the national road that leads from Santiago to the districts of San Francisco, Santa Fé and Calobre as a protest measure after long hours waiting for the commission of the Ministry of Education that today he should make the evaluations of the new structures under construction of this new campus, with more than 10 years of delay.
The demonstrators with banners and shouting slogans, took to the streets and closed the road upset because they expected that the Meduca officials who supposedly traveled from the capital city to Santiago, would be there since early hours, however, according to the teacher Temístocles Camarena and the parents indicated that they had not presented themselves to write this information.

Professor Camarena told this medium that, although the claims have been made peacefully, patience has been running out little by little in the educational community and they had to close the road that affects four districts of the province of Veraguas, without let it be known when it could be opened to transit through the sector.
He maintained that the closure is maintained until the commission presents itself, to the new facilities of the same campus that began its construction in the administration of former President Ricardo Martinelli and that was suspended in the following government administrations and without being able to be used by students and teachers who attend classes in the old facilities in subhuman and inappropriate conditions to receive and teach classes.
A regional Meduca commission appeared at the site of the closure to request that the road be reopened, but the protesters warned them that they will not open the road until the officials assigned yesterday by the Minister of Education Maruja Gorday de Villalobos show up and make the evaluation. relevant.

Darien students also protest
On the other hand, in Darién, students and parents also demonstrated due to the lack of drinking water at the Marco Alarcón School, a basic need, especially when hygiene measures must be extreme due to the pandemic.
