Silvia Veliz made a claim yesterday at the Medical Assistance Work Institute (IOMA) for rehabilitation treatment for her 6-year-old son, who has chronic cerebral palsy and West syndrome. The woman’s heated request generated a moment of tension at the 46 headquarters between 12 and 13.
Veliz said that for “March 17 there is a hip operation scheduled for my son Bastian. And then intensive rehabilitation therapy is needed. The intervention will be carried out in the Fleni de Belgrano and the rehabilitation must be done in the Fleni de Escobar. It is in this last step where nothing is insured and apparently we are the victim of an alleged conflict between that hospital and the IOMA”.
The woman assured that “I made many efforts and they do not assure me of anything. I am desperate like any mother who wants the best for her child and I need concrete answers”.
As this newspaper learned, the social work would have told the mother who claims that “IOMA does not deny anything to the member.” And they told him that they are going to consult the hospital to make possible the coordination of both instances: the operation and the rehabilitation of the patient.
