For a few days, the rag had been burning within the RPM. The Cdsri-RPM led by Mr. Baber Gano, had engaged in a legal battle against President Bokary Treta for the cancellation of the resolutions and recommendations of the 3rd session of the central committee. Following this complaint, the High Court of Commune II of the district of Bamako ruled in favor of President Treta to the detriment of Me Baber Gano and his clan.
In a press release made public, the president of the RPM Bokary Tréta hinted at the explanations for this assignment. According to him, two requests were at the heart of this summons. This is a request for interim relief for suspension of execution of the general resolution of the central committee and the special recommendation addressed to the president of the party; and a motion to annul the general resolution of the central committee and the special recommendation addressed to the president of the party.
As a reminder, the tribunal de grande instance of commune II of the district of Bamako, emptying its deliberation relating to the summons for interim measures for stay of execution of the general resolution of the central committee and the special recommendation addressed to the president of the party, in hearing of January 24, 2022, had taken the decision, the content of which follows: ” ruling publicly, contradictorily in matters of interim relief in the first instance, in the main proceedings, we refer the parties to better appeal as they will advise. But from now on, given the urgency and provisionally in the form, we declare the summons admissible, on the merits, we say there is no need for interim measures, we charge the costs to the applicants.
This Wednesday, March 2, the same court, emptying its deliberation relating to the request for annulment of the general resolution of the central committee and the special recommendation addressed to the president of the party, at its hearing today, took the decision whose content follows: the court, ruling publicly, contradictorily, in civil matters and in the first instance, declares the summons inadmissible for lack of quality of the applicants; bear the costs.
This resounding victory of President Treta sufficiently shows his character and his orthodox behavior. Despite this assignment, Treta had called the detractors to reason by returning to the big family.
The point that had fueled the anger of detractors was the choice of President Treta as the natural candidate for the next presidential election. For the detractors, this designation of the candidate is a flagrant violation of articles 78, 79 and 80 of the statutes of the RPM. The candidate should not be nominated without a congress, without a nomination committee and without a call for candidates, according to Baber and his clan. However, it is the central committee which had invested IBK during the last presidential elections, confesses a source close to the party. Why didn’t the Baber clan make any protests? A question that can only be answered by Me Baber Gano, Moussa Timbiné and Mamadou Diarrassouba who wanted to put the family of weavers on fire through the division. Maturity and common sense must prevail in order to make RPM shine on the political spectrum.
