The cost of seized drugs for the so-called. “black market” reaches seven million lari

TBILISI, March 14 – Sputnik. Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia detained four people for drug offenses – up to seven kilograms of cocaine and other narcotic drugs were seized, according to a statement on the agency’s website.

Of the four defendants, two are foreign citizens, the law enforcement agency noted.

According to investigators, during a search of the temporary residence of a 21-year-old foreigner, the police seized more than 5 kilograms of cocaine. In addition, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, up to 30 grams of cocaine were seized, which the accused had packed for sale.

As for the second 31-year-old foreigner, during a search of temporary housing, the police seized 223 grams of cocaine. As material evidence, the police also seized 40 grams of cocaine, which were left at a specific address for the purpose of sale.

Drugs were also found in the apartments of two Georgian citizens detained in this case.

In total, the police seized up to seven kilograms of cocaine, the cost of which is so-called. “black market” reaches seven million lari (about $2.2 million).

In addition to cocaine, the police also seized heroin. The drugs were found packaged in two packages during a personal search of a 60-year-old detainee near the village of Verkhviani, Sagarejo district.

Now detainees face imprisonment for a term of five to twenty years or indefinite imprisonment.
