The Mayor of Burguillos (Seville), Domingo Delgado (PP)has been attacked by three squatters of Romanian nationality who went to his home blaming him for the power outage in the house that said people keep squatted in the town along with other individuals.
The ‘popular’ mayor has pointed out that although he has physical pain, he has not given up work and continues to perform his duties. The aggressors, for their part, may not approach closer than 500 meters of the locality, as the judge has decreed.
The events occurred last Wednesday night. Minutes after verifying the power outage executed by the electric company in the house, in which the squatters live with illegal hookups to the lightseveral of them appeared at the doors of the house of the alderman, who at that time was in the funeral home due to the death of a close relative.
After being alerted to the disturbance, Delgado went home with his brother, at which point the squatters took the opportunity to attack him. The alderman, as detailed ABCHe was transferred to a medical center to be treated for his injuries and hours later he denounced the facts before the Investigating Court No. 8 of Seville. The three detainees are charged with a crime of attack against authority and another of injuries. They have already been brought to justice.
“It will happen as always, they will leave the country”
In statements to Europe Pressthe Mayor He lamented that “it will happen as always, they will leave the country so as not to answer for what they have done.” It is worth mentioning that when Delgado arrived at the local government, Burguillos was experiencing “a very bad situation”, with many squatsbut as in the locality the water supply depends on the City Council, they have undertaken a policy to avoid fraudulent supplies. The PP cut off the water in several squatted housesa fact that the PSOE denounced and that the courts filed.
After the arrival of the current alderman, Burguillos It has gone from being the municipality most affected by the squatting in the entire region of La Vega in Seville -then under the mandate of the socialist Valentín López-, to being the town with the fewest illegal activities of this type in the last three years.
After the measures adopted by the city council, many squatters have left the townalthough there are still a few. The authors of this aggression come from a house where it is estimated that there are more than 15 people.
After the power cut, “they went to my house, they started pounding on the door” and “when I come back and they see me, what they do without further ado is assault me», The mayor has related, detailing that they only stopped when the Civil Guard and Local Police arrived, who finally arrested the three individuals.
