You are currently viewing Chanel and TVE, everything closed for Eurovision except one thing: Carmen Farala is not confirmed as a designer

There are two months left for the Eurovision Song Contest and it seems that TVE and Chanel have everything closed, except for one thing. Nothing is known about the costumes that the artist will wear at the final of the festival to be held in Turin (Italy) on May 14. And we are not talking about the design (always secret), but about the designer.

Carmen Farala, winner of Drag Race Spain, was the author of the two jumpsuits that Chanel wore at the Benidorm Fest, but no one confirms or denies if she will also be in charge of the Eurovision costumes. “I don’t know,” Chanel replied when asked about this matter during the press conference to present her video clip. “I don’t know yet. I’d love to, because she gave it her all artistically and emotionally. She got on the boat of SloMo from the beginning”, he has said about a matter that is strange that it is so much in the air at this point. It should be noted that in his last appearance on stagewhen he went to the Festival da Cançao in Portugal, he wore a Mugler jumpsuit.

The rest of the details of the eurovision race do seem to be quite on track. RTVE has launched this Monday the official video clip of SloMo and explained that Chanel’s European tour will take her to London and Amsterdam in a few weeks. Kyle Hanagami, choreographer for artists such as Black Pink, Jennifer López, Britney Spears, Justin Bieber and NSync, will be in charge of the staging in Turin, where Chanel will be accompanied by dancers Exo Narcos, Josh Huerta, Pol Soto, Raquel Caurín and Ria Perez.

Chanel, ninth in the bets: “Calmer after so much storm”

The 40 songs that will compete in Eurovision have already been chosen and Spain is among the favorites for victory, according to the ranking of bookmakers. Chanel is in a comfortable ninth place (the former are at risk of burning out) while Ukraine, Italy and Sweden lead the polls. “I am aware of the pressure, but it is good because it keeps you active and makes you not relax”, explained Chanel, who promises to “give the best and rehearse until exhausted”.

Looking ahead to the festival, “I’m taking great care of my voice, mind and physique to have a good background”. “The training is being very demanding, but it is what it is. It is Eurovision and you have to be up to the task. I am rehearsing a lot,” says the artist of Cuban origin. “I want to feel proud of the performance that I do in Eurovision and that Spain is also proud when it comes out.”

The good reviews he has received for his work in recent weeks “make me calmer after such a storm.” And it is that Chanel won in Benidorm with a great controversy for not having been the favorite of the public and yes of the jury. Then came the criticism for the lyrics of SloMo, which from some sectors was accused of being sexist. RTVE has already clarified that it will not change the text, but the voices against the song continue. For example, Tanxugueiras recently said that “the arrows should go to the one who made the lyrics, she only interprets a product”. The product is better positioned than ever for Eurovision.
