Australian Foreign Minister Maris Payne has imposed new sanctions against Russia. They will affect the Russian Armed Forces, six military leaders and ten individuals who allegedly incite hatred and spread propaganda.
“The new package of sanctions will introduce targeted financial sanctions against the Russian Armed Forces and … entry bans against six more high-ranking Russian military commanders,” said in a statement.
Under the sanctions against the Russian Armed Forces, in particular, the ground forces, the Navy, the Aerospace Forces, the strategic missile forces and the airborne troops fell.
“The Australian government is imposing sanctions on ten people … for their role in inciting hatred against Ukraine and promoting pro-Kremlin propaganda,” Payne said.
Earlier, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced the imposition of sanctions against Russian President Vladimir Putin and a number of top Russian officials.
According to him, Australia imposes sanctions on Russia in connection with the recognition of the DNR and LNR.
