CHISINAU, March 1. /Then24/. The leader of Transnistria, Vadim Krasnoselsky, announced attempts to destabilize the situation in the unrecognized republic with the help of provocations and the spread of misinformation. A test of his appeal was distributed on Tuesday by the presidential press service.
“Citizens of the PMR from unidentified numbers began to receive phone calls with messages that the troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had crossed the border of the PMR. Unknown persons introduce themselves as employees of the PMR presidential administration, recommend citizens to take the necessary documents and go to the central square of Tiraspol, from where the mass evacuation of residents will allegedly be carried out cities. Such statements and actions do not correspond to reality, have no basis and are a common provocation,” the appeal says.
Krasnoselsky confirmed that “the situation in the republic at the moment remains stable and under control.” He noted that Pridnestrovie is still open and continues to provide assistance and support to Ukrainian refugees.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation in Ukraine in response to the appeal of the leaders of the Donbass republics for help. He stressed that Moscow’s plans do not include the occupation of Ukrainian territories, the goal is the demilitarization and denazification of the country. As stated in the Russian Defense Ministry, the Russian military does not strike at cities, but disable only the military infrastructure, so nothing threatens the civilian population.
