The Plenary of the Constitutional Convention approved this Tuesday 96 votes in favor, 38 against and 13 abstentions, a series of modifications to the internal regulations of the constituent body with the aim of speeding up the discussion of norms.
Among the modifications is to consider Saturday as a business day for the presentation of indications, and they will also be considered within the reporting deadlines.
The general discussion of commission reports was also modified. Specifically, the possibility of requesting a separate vote on some aspect of the proposal was limited. In other words, unlike what has happened so far, they will not generally vote article by article, but rather the normative proposal as a whole. If the report is rejected, it will go back to the committee for a replacement wording.
Of course, this measure will only apply from the second reports issued by the commissions. In this way, this separation can still be requested in the discussion of the pending reports of the Political System, Constitutional Principles, Fundamental Rights and Environment commissions. This will require the signature of eight conventional.
Likewise, the constituent body ratified its next regional exit in the week of May 16 to 20. On that date, the conventional ones will move to the Antofagasta Region,
