On Sunday February 20, 2022, the Open saber d’escrime, 2022 edition was held at the Olympafrica Center in Banankabougou.
According to the Communication Unit of the National Olympic and Sports Committee of Mali, great support for this discipline that Malians are discovering little by little, a total of 34 athletes participated in the competition, including 18 girls and 16 boys from five different clubs. (USFAS, MIFA, E.CO-OLYMPAFRICA, TITAN and DJELIBOUGOU).
Among the gentlemen, Abdoul Kafar KANE of the TITAN CLUB won the title of champion in front of Idrissa OUARO of the ECO club of the sports palace.
On the women’s draw, Alima DEMBELE of the USFAS club dominated her sister DEMBELE Aichata of the ECO club of the Olympafrica Center.

In popularization world
As part of its popularization, the Malian Federation of Judo and JU-JITSU organized on Sunday February 13, 2022, the 2nd edition of the Federation President’s Cup at the sports pavilion of the Modibo Keita stadium in Bamako.
Reserved for chicks, youngest and minimal. This competition is part of the promotion of the discipline in Mali. They were among 150 athletes to take part. The event was chaired by Colonel Abdoulaye KΓ©ita, vice-president of the federation in the presence of members of the federal office.
At the end of the confrontations, all the participants received gifts from the federation.
